YSMU Rector Prof. Derenik Dumanyan met with the graduates of Master’s courses of Stomatology and Pharmacy Faculties, thus granting the students the opportunity to address their questions during the meeting. The most important and interesting issue for students was the lifelong learning in terms of postgraduate and continuing education, as well as the issues related to state exams, namely those concerning practicing medicine when graduating MA course; postgraduate education tuition or if changes in academic conditions are envisioned; the issue with regard to the choice of clinical base for clinical residents; any perspectives on being enrolled in postgraduate education abroad.
In accordance with the explanations provided by Prof. Dumanyan, the university graduates are allowed to practice medicine only upon passing residency state exams and getting the Medical Doctor Diploma. He also detailed, that the residents personally choose both the clinic and the supervisor. The Rector also informed that the postgraduate education tuition and conditions will remain unchanged. Prof. Dumanyan and the University Vice-Rector Prof. Samvel Avetisyan provided comprehensive responses to other raised questions as well. Meanwhile, the University officials informed the students on the necessity of referring to the University official web-site and getting familiar with the relevant order on organising and conducting final attestation of the graduates of Bachelor’s and Master’s courses.
