Golden Fall 2011: Gilded Surprises

This festive event at Yerevan State Medical University was dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia

This unique event was titled “Golden Fall 2011” and was tinted in autumn hues. During this festive ceremony numerous government officials honoured the university faculty extending their sincere greetings to those present. Dr. Armen Ashotyan – RA Minister of Education and Science; the University Rector – Prof. Derenik Dumanyan, university administrative staff and multiple students attended the student event organized by the University Student Parliament.

In his noteworthy address Dr. Ashotyan highlighted the fact of medical university bringing forth cordial feelings in him and expressed gratefulness for maintaining those core values and traditions.

“Student Parliament of the Medical University has never been wrapped in the dark cloak of time and it was sixteen years ago this important student platform resumed its activities pioneering new breath and spirit in the student life. Its role is inestimable in terms of bringing relevant changes into the university life in an enthusiastic and impressive mode.

I wish to express my thankfulness to the university faculty, professors and students for maintaining and advancing those best traditions reigning in the university; traditions, heirs of which are the coming generations, and let me proudly state I am alumnus of the medical university,” said the Minister, who himself had once been heading the university student parliament.

Students of university different faculties staged amusing and extraordinary performances throughout the whole ceremony. Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning this festive event was remarkable both for professors and students in sense numerous honorary titles were awarded to distinguished professors and students going as “best professor”, “best student of the year”, “best student of the faculty”, etc.

At the end of this memorable event the Rector of the University expressed his gratefulness to the students stating the overwhelming majority of the university students are not only gifted and pursue their calling to be a physician, but also talented in arts and poetry.

The event was implemented under the auspices of the University Administration and the Youth Foundation of Armenia.
