YSMU Rector Awarded in Recognition of Decent Medical Services

23.09.2011

Score years ago it was when our nation didn’t leave it to the mercy of chance and bringing forth much thought, deep reflection, a sagacious, powerful and combining mind, declared Armenia an independent state. In the outset, one would not endeavor to acknowledge a whit; even with the wisdom and virtue given by the Almighty, the evil and injustices to be overcome on the path of putting into execution the liberty and independence yearned for decades.

Both the military parade dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Independence of Armenia coming to reinstate the pledge of our national and state allegiance, power and protection; and the countless festive and pictorial events called forth the pride of all Armenians. Clearly, it meant more than just adherence to mainstream faiths; it assured dissidents and even non-believers that such coverage of national festival had never been observed in the state annals. The very purpose of the unity and integrity empowers national spirit leading to even more triumphant achievements.

If not the character of integrity inherent to the Armenian people, neither the war for Artsakh would end in a victory, nor the anguish and pains of the war could be endured.

Certain type of humanity can safely be characterized as unconventionally faithful in all times; in any environ. Due to such encompassing commitment and loyalty, national milestones are grounded; state cornerstone is secured.

The 20th Anniversary of Armenian Independence was a unique opportunity to esteem the contributions by those maintaining constant dedication to the motherland. Hence, in compliance with the order issued by RA Minister of Defence – Mr. Seyran Ohanyan, on September 22, 2011, the Rector of Yerevan State Medical University – Professor Derenik Dumanyan was awarded “Marshall Baghramyan” Medal in recognition of “Decent medical services during the war for the liberty of Artsakh; in grateful recognition of military medical service organization of Armenian Armed Forces; for the inestimable contribution to the foundation and development of the Military Medicine Faculty of the Medical University, as well as on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of Armenian Independence.”
