The clinic is the base for YSMU Department of Plastic Surgery.

Patients receive narrow specialized medical care when being in emergency situations; with amputations of extremities and their segments, with bleeding of extremities’ great vessels, with tissue defects of different parts of the body. About 1000 operations are carried out yearly at the clinic. Aesthetic operations are as well carried out; namely plasty of nose, eyelids, ears, face and neck lift (rhytidectomy), breast augmentation with breast implants and breast diminution, abdominal lifting and liposuction, and other surgical interventions. Restorative-reconstructive operations such as restoration of auricle in congenital anomalies, mammary gland (breast restoration) after amputation (in connection with eradication of tumor), post-burn defects and deformations, defects arisen in the result of tumor degradation and many other various operations. Numerous clinical and experimental studies have been carried out concerning the restoration of peripheral nerves, microsurgical transplantation of flaps, evaluation of aesthetic operations’ results, experiments in the sphere of nerve regeneration and pathophysiology of ischemic skin flaps.
