Arto V. Zilfyan (born 1944)
MD, PhD, DSci, Professor of Pathophysiology and Pathology, acting Director of Scientific Research Center of the Yerevan State Medical University
Professor Zilfyan is the author of several concepts in basic medical science, dedicated to the dominating role of the periphery hormones and mediators, as well as intracorporal microbial associations for regulation of the endocrine, immune and cardiovascular systems.
Professor Zilfyan brought valuable insight in comprehensive understanding of the immunopathogenicity of the rheumatoid arthritis, cardiomyopathies, and eye anterior chamber associated immune deviation (ACAID) and development of multiorganic functional insufficiency, as well as aspects of morphogenesis and pathogenesis of systemic and organic infringements of the process of bacterial translocation of residential microorganisms from the niche of macroorganisms.

Scientific interests involve cardiac remodeling pathogenesis and clinical diagnostics in heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy, cardiac metabolism and cardiac adrenergic state in physiology and experimental myocardial necrosis, role of neurohumoral disturbance and humoral factors in heart failure pathogenesis, stress-echocardiography in ischemic and dilated cardiomyopathies.

MD, PhD, DSci, Professor of Urology, Chair of Urology Department of the Yerevan State Medical University
Besides being practicing high-level professional urologist, Armen Muradyan is an active provider of effective reforms in public health and medicine. Dr Muradyan is the initiator of the Annual open doors receptions dedicated to Man’s Health, he is the first inventor of the electronic passports of the Health (specially Man’s Health) in Armenia. A. Muradyan is the President of the Medical Chamber of Armenia, member of many professional associations.
Main scientific interests: Oncological Urology, Pathology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Applied Computer Sciences.

Hovhannes M. Manvelyan (born 1971)
MD, PhD, DSci, Associated Professor at the Neurology Chair of the Yerevan State Medical University.
Doctor Manvelyan has academical approach to problems of contemporary Neuroscience. In 2004-2005 he worked as a visiting post doc at the University of California at San Francisco and recently has been appointed at Neurology Chair. He is a member of many professional and charitable associations.
Dr Manvelyan’s special interests of involve investigation on the role of activated microglia/macrophages in different neurological disorders, including neurodegeneration and demyelinating diseases, the cerebral perfusion, and dementia. Currently he is supervising creation of the National Database of Patients with Cognitive Disorders and Multiple Sclerosis.

Stepan A. Avagyan (born 1954),
PhD in biophysics
Doctor Avagyan is the Head of the Laboratory of Radioimmune and Immune Fermentative Methods at the Scientific Research Center of the Yerevan State Medical University. He is engaged in profound investigation on the role of biogenic amines in the integrative functioning of the endocrine, immune and cardiovascular systems, both in normal conditions and formation of the adaptation syndrome.

Drastamat N. Khudaverdyan (born 1942)
MD, PhD, DSci, Vice Rector for Science, Professor and Chairman of Department of Normal Physiology, Yerevan State Medical University
Scientific interests of Professor Khudaverdyan include investigations on formation of neuroendocrine mechanisms in rhythmogenic electrogenesis, myogenic activity and brain tremor reactivity; cellular and molecular mechanisms of calcium regulating hormones, actions and their functional interactions with different systems in physiology, pathology and in critical conditions.

Levon M. Mkrtchyan (born 1938)
MD, PhD, DSci, Oncopathologist, Professor, Honorary Scientist of Armenia, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, President of the Armenian Academy of Medical Sciences
Scientific interests include scientific basis of prevention of activity of the tumors, scientific and biotechnological aspects of creation of anti-tumor vaccine, biological effects of natural anti-tumor substances - keilons and interferones, mechanisms of non-controlling of tumor cells by immune system, mechanisms of increase of resistance to prione diseases. |
